Removing a user from your subscription will immediately revoke their access to all subscription features and data. This action is reversible by re-inviting the user.
What Happens When You Remove a User

Restrictions and Limitations
- You cannot remove the subscription owner
- You must be the owner or a delegate to remove users
- You cannot remove yourself from the subscription
Re-adding Users
If you need to restore access for a removed user, you can send them a new invitation through the 'Invite User' feature. They will need to accept the invitation to regain access.
Additional Considerations
- Communicate with the user before removing them from the subscription
- Ensure any important work is completed or transferred

Help: Upgrading Your Paid Subscription
About Subscription Upgrades
Upgrading to a higher paid subscription tier immediately increases your capacity limits and can provide access to enhanced features. All your existing data and team configurations are preserved during the upgrade.
Immediate Benefits of Upgrading
- Instant capacity increase for PIAs, monthly creation limits, and team members
- Any previously paused services are immediately restored
- Access to enhanced features available in higher tiers

When to Consider Upgrading

- When team size requirements exceed current subscription limits
- When monthly PIA creation needs consistently approach limits
- When enhanced features or support levels would benefit your organization
How to Upgrade
Use the 'Billing' button on your subscription list page to access your secure billing portal. From there, you can select a higher tier plan. Changes take effect immediately upon payment confirmation.
Help: Downgrading Your Subscription
About Subscription Downgrades
Downgrading to a lower subscription tier reduces your capacity limits and may trigger service limitations if your current usage exceeds the new limits. Understanding these effects helps you prepare for a smooth transition.
What Happens During Downgrade
- New, lower capacity limits take effect immediately
- If current usage exceeds new limits, certain services become paused
- All existing data and team members are preserved
- Enhanced features from higher tiers may become unavailable
Over-Capacity Service Limitations
When your usage exceeds the new tier limits, SimplePIA automatically pauses certain services to prevent further over-capacity issues while preserving essential management functions.
PIA Services During Over-Capacity
- Available: View PIAs, Delete PIAs, Print PIAs, Access Recycle Bin
- Paused: Edit PIA content, Create new PIAs (if over storage limit), Restore from Recycle Bin
- Storage over-limit: Must be resolved by deleting PIAs
- Monthly creation over-limit: Automatically resets next calendar month
Team Management During Over-Capacity
- Available: View subscription, View members, Remove members, Billing portal access
- Paused: Invite new members, Manage delegates, Update subscription details, Regenerate invitation codes
- Resolution: Remove team members to get under the new limit
Resolving Over-Capacity Situations
- Review your current usage in the subscription capacity display
- For PIA over-storage: Delete unnecessary PIAs or print important ones for backup and then delete them
- For team over-capacity: Remove inactive team members
- For monthly PIA over-creation: Wait for automatic reset next month
- All services resume automatically once under limits
Role of Owners and Delegates
Subscription owners and delegates retain access to essential management functions during over-capacity situations. This ensures they can take corrective actions like removing team members or deleting excess PIAs to restore full service.
